WHAT WE KEEP was the story of a woman (Ginny Young) who is about to meet her mother for the first time after being apart for 35 years. During the flight to California, she remembers the events that lead up to her mother's departure. Ginny was 12 years old when she last sees her mother, and we see the events through Ginny's 12 year old eyes. The other day, I was teaching a gender studies class — nine teenage girls all anxious to say the right thing, their desks in a circle — and my students and I were talking about mothers. We were talking about the impossible positions they are placed in, the ways in which they are our models; we were talking about what little space moms have.

We followed my mother to the market-place, where she placed us in a row against a large house, with our backs to the wall and our arms folded across our breasts. I, as the eldest, stood first, Hannah next to me, then Dinah; and our mother stood beside, crying over us. SO as Christ followers we are called to stand out not to fit in to the mold of society, the book of Romans was written by the apostle Paul to the Christians in Rome who were predominantly Gentiles. He writes this because he realizes the condition of the people, Jews and Gentiles alike are sinners and all are in need of a Savior.

We picked up the PGR’s along our route. Those riders took wind and rain to the face at 65mph for just about two hours. They gave no grief about their ride. They gave nothing but love and a lot of wet hugs! After our wet ride they stood graveside in our very small graveyard and held flags while military representatives conducted my mothers burial. One Polish man who bought hectares talked to us and gave us a tour. On this field which once belonged to my mother, now stand 10 Polish houses with their occupants. Our field was purchased by a Pole (). We lived close to the railroad and the city is beyond our house. We walked all over this place where our mother was born.
